Synopsis[]
In order to put an end to their boring, repetitive daily lives, the sextuplets set out on an adventure to obtain a legendary fruit, which is said to grant any wish of the one who eats it. However, during their travel they come across a mysterious group, the Hipipo Tribe...
Plot[]
Warning: The content below contains spoilers.
In the middle of nowhere the sextuplets are in a dune buggy being chased by a tyrannosaurus. As the dinosaur gains on them, Osomatsu swerves the vehicle under it and continuously drives around it in loops, causing the dinosaur to become dizzy and fall down. As the others want to take the chance to leave, Osomatsu manages to convince them to fight, Choromatsu joins in and says they can beat it together as one. Eventually, as the dinosaur gets up again, they all collectively strike, only for the tyrannosaurus to whip them all away with a single tail blow, landing the sextuplets far away in a body of water.
The six continue travelling vast distances, and Choromatsu explains how they're on a journey to find a special fruit which will change their lives. They stop within a forest to take a break, and Jyushimatsu winds up seeing something watching them, but as the others don't believe him he wanders off to find out more.
The others go looking for Jyushimatsu and soon enough find him as he dashes past them shouting for them to run; behind him is a group of tribal figures who quickly attack the sextuplets. As they attempt to escape, all become trapped except Todomatsu, who ends up tripping and falling down a hill into a stream below, with his pants and underwear falling off in the process. As the tribe gains on him, they stop, appearing to marvel at his privates. Him and his brothers are then spared and are all taken to a nearby village.
At the village the sextuplets are treated well, and Karamatsu finds a field of small trees bearing fruits. The sextuplets pick them, believing them to be the shining fruit that they are looking for, however the tribe ends up attacking them for stealing. After the sextuplets beg for the fruit, they are given the tools to make their own crops.
The sextuplets start fighting over who starts the work, as they only have one hoe. Each brother makes up an excuse to not be the one working, and somehow Choromatsu winds up being the first to have a go, only to find the tool too heavy to work with, Osomatsu also tries but fails the same way, and soon enough the six of them agree to take small turns then pass the hoe on. After days of work and drama, the group finally manages to slowly grow their own trees and become more active working around the village, even building themselves a house together.
One day, a hurricane passes by over the land, destroying all the buildings and ripping up all the crops. The sextuplets lose hope, but after observing the tribe still working hard they become determined to continue.
Back at the Matsuno house, mom and dad are watching news on tv, where the reporter explains about the re-arise of an illegal fruit known as the "hipipo fruit", and that anyone found harvesting the fruit should be reported.
Meanwhile, Iyami issues tanks and jets over the island, cornering the tribe and taking all the fruits. The sextuplets were found and placed within a temporary cell, but were quickly able to escape with help from the Riceballs, who try to convince them to go home, informing them that the fruit they were harvesting was different to the one they were searching for. Defeated, the sextuplets agree to go home and they all board a small boat...
Somewhere out at sea, Iyami provides the stolen fruits to Chibita as part of a deal, but before they can finalise it there is a random explosion at one end of the ship and the sextuplets show up to stop them. Jyushimatsu throws grenades and the explosions cause the ship to tilt, releasing the crated fruit into the ocean. The six of them are then outnumbered but are suddenly saved by the tribe and are given the last remaining fruit; with it the sextuplets prepare to escape the ship but overhear reporters in a helicopter wondering why they're working so hard for the last fruit, so they then proceed to explain to the world about the shining fruit, and how it can greatly change someone's life.
As the Matsunos are preparing to leave a wave of boats and planes start coming towards them, shouting that the fruit is theirs. The sextuplets freak out and escape in the other direction but a missile blasts them to land where they are chased further. Next, everyone begins fighting for the fruit, attacking each other and causing the fruit to constantly be within different grasps. The fruit is knocked about and eventually it's rolling away with the sextuplets chasing after it again; it then hits an uneven rock in the ground and is launched into the sky, causing the brothers to jump after it in union, however they fall shy of grabbing it and plummet into a canyon below.
When the six come to, they find themselves surrounded by serenity and oddly shaped rocks, where, within the centre, is a singular giant tree holding shining fruits. The sextuplets happily pick and eat the fruits only to instantly turn into creatures alike the Hipipo tribe.
